Extraordinary meeting of the FEFU Academic Council that was held on March 4, have raised the question of assistance to the students of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), who found themselves in a difficult life situation. Acting President Boris Korobets suggested to exchange views and jointly determine additional measures to support those in need.

“In the current situation, young people are the most vulnerable, because they are most susceptible to informational and emotional impact. Now, more than ever, it is important to have simple human communication, the responsiveness and mutual support on the part of peers and adults, regardless of whether it is a Russian student or a foreign student that needs help. FEFU students show fantastic endurance, and this inspires confidence in the future. We have grand plans, and new challenges will only help to realize them.” Boris Korobets emphasized.

As noted, foreign students, who have already felt the impact of the imposed restrictions, are in the most difficult situation. The FEFU Situation Center has opened its doors to provide all the necessary assistance to the students. You can apply via phone: 8 (800) 550-38-38 or the short number *025, volunteers and employees of the Center will consult on issues of accommodation, education and life, and provide psychological support.

Boris Korobets has also emphasized the issue of international scientific and technological cooperation. He instructed to evaluate current status of relations with foreign partners and carefully analyze the projects with representatives of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. “The “Eastern Vector” of development, strategic for FEFU, today acquires a new meaning and opens up new opportunities.” said Boris Korobets.

The Academic Council of Far Eastern Federal University ensures the normative regulation of the main issues of the university's activities and determines its promising areas of development. The current board members were elected in 2018 for a five-year term.
