“Russia has successfully coped with the Chairmanship in the turbulent 2020. The changed configuration of network diplomacy has given rise to a number of landmark initiatives that will continue this year. Far Eastern Federal University has become one of the most important elements of Russia’s Chairmanship in the BRICS in terms of the development of academic cooperation. FEFU experts have made their contribution to the implementation of the priorities of Russia’s Chairmanship in the grouping”, said Victoria Panova, FEFU Vice-President for International Relations.

Since 2020, Far Eastern Federal University has actively participated in events under the Chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the BRICS and conducted the BRICS Educational Internship Program for 70 students from Brazil, India, China, and South Africa, as well as 38 Russian participants from FEFU. During the spring semester, the participants of the educational internship were trained in the most relevant for the BRICS countries Bachelor's and Master's degrees in online format. In addition, in September 2020, the university, represented by FEFU President Nikita Anisimov, took an active part in the BRICS Civil Forum.
