May 30, 2019 - FEFU News

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and PJSC VimpelCom (Beeline brand) signed a cooperation agreement. The parties' agreements are aimed at creating an ecosystem of technology entrepreneurship support for the innovative development of the Far East, as well as involving staff, students and graduate students of the university in project activities using real-life cases and tasks, organizing modern educational programs and practices.

Under the terms of the agreement, Beeline will be prepared to hold specialized seminars for students and university staff with market experts and other activities to increase knowledge of the telecommunications industry, as well as implement initiatives to develop a mobile network and organize sites for testing promising technologies at FEFU.

“Our cooperation with FEFU is intended to unite business and science and become the key to the successful development of high technologies in the Far East. Sharing the accumulated experience and knowledge, offering students today to solve real cases, to participate in organizational processes, in the near future we get highly qualified specialists in demand on the market who are ready to make an undeniable contribution to the development of the telecommunications market of the Far East in the market, and, hence, the attractiveness of the territory for a comfortable life and successful business”, said Alexander Teplyakov, territorial manager of the Primorsky Cluster.

“FEFU and Beeline are bound by plans and very interesting ideas, one of which is dedicated to the opening of a laboratory for research on promising technologies of 5G formats. The test site should be deployed on the campus of the university. New approaches to creating software and electronics are a niche that is still relatively free in Russia: there are not so many developers, there are practically no test zones at all. In this sense, we could broadcast the best practices in our country together and experience what we already have in the countries closest to us - China, Japan, Singapore and South Korea”, said Ilya Yaskov, Deputy Vice-President for Development.

“Through the educational programs of the Technopark, hundreds of active students are thinking about their future. We have residents, corporate, industrial and foreign partners. Thus, it is an ideal place for crossing the trajectories of development, movement, needs of real business and talented youth. We will be happy if one of them eventually becomes a resident of the Technopark, creating his own startup, and we will be proud of those who strengthen teams of such corporate partners as Beeline”, said Dmitry Borovikov, Director of Russky Technopark .
