Central China Normal University (CCNU) hosted the official opening of the joint network programmes launched by the Chinese university jointly with Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). Officials and professors of the two institutions of higher education welcomed the first students of the ‘Foreign Regional Studies’ and ‘Management’ network programmes.

All the students of the first intake were invited to the official opening of the FEFU and CCNU joint network programmes 'Foreign Regional Studies' and 'Management'. They were addressed by the officials and professors of the Russian and Chinese universities. The Students will spend their first year of study in China where, in addition to mastering the core curriculum, they will take an intensive Russian language course. This will help them prepare for the next stage of their studies, which will take place at the Far Eastern Federal University.

‘Russia and China maintain truly strong ties of good-neighbourliness, cooperation and friendship between the nations. The Far Eastern Federal University is an important point of this interaction. We stand at the forefront of Russian-Chinese humanitarian cooperation, educating 1,500 students from the PRC and training leading specialists to work with China. FEFU is proud to be a point of attraction for Chinese applicants wishing to study abroad. A new result of our systematic work in this direction is the opening of educational programmes between the FEFU and the Central China Normal University,’ said Evgeny Vlasov, FEFU Vice President for International Relations.

‘Dear first-year students! You have become part of the first joint network programmes of the Far Eastern Federal University and the Central China Normal University. This is the beginning of your professional development, which promises to be a fascinating journey that opens doors to the world of international cooperation, cultural exchange and career development. Years of study full of new knowledge, experiences and opportunities await you. You will not only study the theoretical aspects of foreign regional studies and management, but you will also apply this knowledge in real projects and internships in Russia and China. We would like to wish all of you to make the most of the opportunities that are open to you!’, said Valeria Shvedova, Project Manager of the Office of the Vice-President for International Relations of FEFU, welcoming the first students of the new programmes.

It should be noted that FEFU is also currently working on a joint institute project with Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The universities plan to launch six joint English-language bachelor's and master's degree programmes in IT and applied mathematics. Students of the Joint Institute will have the opportunity to study in both China and Russia, which will allow graduates to develop competences necessary for the development and strengthening of humanitarian ties between our countries.

The People's Republic of China is a key partner of the Far Eastern Federal University. The university cooperates with more than 60 universities and research centres in China. There are 16 Russian Language and Culture Centres in China, the FEFU Representative Office and the Centre for Russian-Chinese Studies opened jointly with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Their main objectives are the development of academic partnerships in the region, joint research activities and promotion of academic exchanges.
