Mitsubishi Corporation will support the students of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) for high results in the study of the Japanese language and Japan in general. They will be encouraged by the Mitsubishi Corporation International Scholarship. The corresponding agreement was signed by FEFU Vice-President for International Relations Victoria Panova and General Director of Mitsubishi Corporation (Russia) LLC Mr. Michihiko Okabe on the sidelines of the VI Eastern Economic Forum.

“The study of the language, culture, economy, and politics of Japan, as well as the training of highly qualified experts in the field of Japanese studies at FEFU has been going on for decades. Today we are one of the leading centers of Japanese studies in Russia. Mitsubishi Corporation has been a long-standing reliable partner of our university in the field of practice-oriented education and the development of the socio-economic potential of the region. It is important to emphasize that thanks to joint projects, we stimulate students to new discoveries and victories”, said Victoria Panova.

With the support of Mitsubishi Corporation, FEFU has implemented many scientific and educational programs. In 2017, a center for the study of Russian-Japanese relations was opened, where young Japanese scholars comprehensively study modern bilateral relations and prepare practical recommendations for strengthening partnerships, primarily in the economic sphere.

Also, with the participation of Mitsubishi Corporation at the 2017 Eastern Economic Forum, the launch of Russia's first Executive MBA program “Business in Asia: Creation and Promotion” took place. In addition, since 2014, the Japanese company has supported the best FEFU students studying the language, history, and economy of Japan, and has financed overseas internships for talented youth.

Far Eastern Federal University is intensively developing ties with Japan. Partnership agreements have been concluded with more than 40 universities and research centers of the country, exchanges of students and teachers, joint research and conferences, and scientific articles are published. Since 1994 on about. Hokkaido operates a branch of FEFU - the first and only branch of a Russian university in Japan. In 2018, the first foreign Representative Office of FEFU was opened at Tokai University (Japan, Tokyo).
