Far Eastern Federal University and MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) signed an updated agreement on the implementation of a joint educational Master's program "International Relations in Eurasia: Politics, Economics and Ideology". The meeting took place on April 30, 2021 in Moscow. The signing event was attended by Victoria Panova, Vice-President for International Relations of FEFU and Andrey Baikov, Vice-President for Research and International Cooperation of MGIMO.
“The renewed agreement on the networked educational program and the mutual desire of our universities to expand educational interaction allows us to train truly competitive specialists in the field of international activity. This is a solid foundation for the further development of a high-quality foreign policy of our country”, noted Victoria Panova, FEFU Vice-President for International Relations.
The universities began their productive cooperation four years ago, when on February 16, 2017, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between FEFU and MGIMO. Then the parties outlined vectors of interaction in the field of improving the quality of education and scientific research, information exchange, joint training and advanced training of specialists in priority areas. Over the years, within the framework of cooperation, several educational modules, educational internships and professional development programs have been conducted.
Already in 2018, a joint educational program in Eurasian Studies was launched on the basis of the MGIMO English-language program Politics and Economics in Eurasia. In 2020, the universities decided to make changes and update the content of the program, on the basis of which it was planned to sign an updated document, in accordance with which, from the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year.
