Nikita Anisimov, Interim President of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), will head a large delegation of the university at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) in Sochi. From the 15th to the 22nd of October, a hundred FEFU students and employees will take part in the main youth event of the planet. Fifty-nine university volunteers have already started working at the WFYS; the delegates of the main festival venues are getting ready for the flight.
“We are sending our best, most active students and faculty to the World Festival. In Sochi, they will participate in the panel discussions and represent FEFU and Primorsky Krai to the best of their abilities in front of thousands of people from 180 countries. I am sure that our delegates will be able to cope with this task perfectly,” commented the upcoming event Igor Filippov, Director of the FEFU Department of Extracurricular Activities.
The students of the School of Economics and Management got a group ticket for the WFYS, having won the competition at the Eastern Economic Forum. The team prepared the best project for the Far East economy development until 2030, they suggested creating a special economic space and a new principle of interaction between the Russian Far Eastern business and the Asia-Pacific countries. Nikita Kutsyi, Vasily Krutenev, Alina Zayats, Kristina Kostenko, Diana Tereshchenko, and Yulia Gavrik will speak at the Economics for Future Development roundtable within the framework of the festival.
Participants to the festival will also be FEFU faculty and students who have passed the competitive selection of the organizing committee. Among the known activists are the Deputy Chairman of the FEFU United Student Council Ekaterina Albegova, the Head of the FEFU student organization Anastasia Martynova, the Head of the FEFU Volunteer Training Center Daria Belyavtseva and others. Among the staff are young faculty members Alexey Kulinich (Department of International Relations), Ulyana Serdyuk (Department of Ecology), and Mikhail Krivopal (Department of Finance and Credit).
In its turn, Far Eastern Federal University will become one of the 15 regional venues of the World Festival of Youth and Students. From 14 to 16 October, 200 Russian and international volunteers from 50 states will visit Vladivostok and take part in The Future of Science and Global Education program. In FEFU, delegates are expected to meet with international students, to participate in the festival of Russian culture and discussions on topical issues of the future.
The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students will bring together more than 20,000 people from all over the world. The festival motto is: “For peace, solidarity and social justice, we are fighting against imperialism—respecting our past, we build our future!”
