Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) joined Best Universities of Russia: Choose Yours, the first ever interactive navigator for international university applicants. The project was launched by the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency with the support of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). The special website will help make a choice from the best universities and, if desired, immediately apply for admission.

A total of 207 universities, popular among international students, are included into the final version of the navigator. Each university's page provides information on its positions in the international rankings, number of students, admission guidelines, admission time and dates, accommodation conditions, scientific laboratories, available educational programs, recognition of the degree awarded by the university abroad, as well as the links to the university's pages in social networks and contact details.

Far Eastern Federal University has been rightfully included in the list of the best Russian universities for international students. The leading university in the region is rapidly gaining popularity in the world and enhances its international competitiveness, consistently performing development indicators under the 5top100 National Project. FEFU enrolled 3,000 students from 52 countries in 2016-2017 academic year.

Today international students are studying in all Schools by pursuing a wide range of programs: from General Medicine to Construction and Journalism. The vast majority of them are from the Asia-Pacific countries. China, Uzbekistan and Vietnam maintain their leadership, to which India and Colombia have joined due to active international recruitment. In 2016 FEFU enrolled Australian, British, and Bolivian nationals for the first time.

According to Dmitry Guzhelya, the Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, more than 45,000 international students have been admitted to Russian universities this year. Now the Ministry of Education and Science and Rossotrudnichestvo are discussing the new forms of the attraction of students, including through international competitions for school students. For the first time next year FEFU also plans to hold its branded Ocean of Knowledge Olympiad in China, Vietnam, Korea, and the CIS countries.
