Mar 23, 2020 - FEFU News

Since March 23, educational activities at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the programs of all levels of training have been completely transferred to the electronic environment. Access to information and educational services was received by 20 thousand students and 2.5 thousand professors.

Electronic services for organizing the educational process are available in the personal account of the FEFU portal. Links to go to the educational platform were pre-published in the class schedule for each discipline. Students and teachers are recommended to use Microsoft Teams platform to organize all kinds of educational activities: to conduct lectures, practice, seminars, and consultations; upload educational content from different sources; integrate third-party applications; set and check the tasks; rate academic performance and much more.

To help students and professors, a special section has been launched on the FEFU website, where training materials, videos and text instructions for using the services are posted. There are also cyber volunteers among students who help with setting up and using the online environment. The hotline is 8 (800) 550-38-38. Despite all this, other measures are being taken to make the transition to the virtual academic space as comfortable as possible for teachers and students.

The educational process at Far Eastern Federal University was transferred to the electronic environment in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection on the basis of order No. 12-13-500 of March 17, 2020, adopted in accordance with the decision of the FEFU Academic Council and the recommendation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. E-learning maintains the quality of education and excludes direct contact between students and teachers in classrooms, which is extremely important in the context of the spread of infection. It is planned to resume classes at FEFU on April 13.

Current information on preventing the spread of coronavirus infection is published on the FEFU website in COVID-19.Info section, on social networks and university’s Telegram channels.
