Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) has become one of the leaders among universities in the field of popularizing science according to the version of the INDICATOR website. The annual ranking of the university press services from Project 5-100 assessed the number of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, the availability of exclusive informational materials, as well as translations of materials into English and their distribution around the world. FEFU also distinguished itself by its social networks, gaining the maximum number of points for each of the indicators.

According to the FEFU Department of External Communications, together with FEFU, the leaders were St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), National Research Technological University MISiS, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The analysis of social networks clearly revealed the absolute leaders in this field - HSE and FEFU. These universities were the only ones who received the maximum number of points for each item.

Far Eastern Federal University was also included in the list of leaders in publications in English, providing a strong position in the geography of the distribution of popular science materials - 16 countries, including Brazil, Germany, China, the USA, France, Sweden, Japan, and others.

Far Eastern Federal University has been participating in a project to increase the international competitiveness of leading Russian universities (Project 5-100) since 2013. During this time, the number of publications of faculty members has increased by 11 times, the citation of articles by scientists has increased by six times, and the share of publications with international participation has increased up to 30%.

FEFU is consistently expanding the community of science communicators in the region and contributes to the development of common standards for the exchange of information. Events from the busy life of a leading university in the Far East are in the focus of attention of federal and regional journalists, and the achievements of scientists become vivid informational occasions for publications and television programs.
