May 26, 2016 - FEFU News

Far Eastern Federal University will start to teach General Medicine English Program to the students from India starting from the autumn of 2016. The prospects of attracting international applicants to the leading institution of higher education in the Far East have been discussed at the meeting between Vladimir Kurilov, FEFU Vice President for International Relations, and Mr. Ravi Chandran Chockalingam, the Managing Director of Study Abroad Educational Consultants (Chennai, India).

The representative of the recruitment company said that every year more and more Indian students seek higher education in Engineering and Medicine in Russian universities. Applicants appreciate the traditionally high level of training in these areas and the prospects for the employment of graduates in their home country. "Far Eastern Federal University is an important and attractive partner for our company, and we are ready to organize training of students from India," stressed Mr. Ravi Chandran Chockalingam.

Annually Study Abroad Educational Consultants offer to recruit 50 students for the FEFU General Medicine English Language Program at the School of Biomedicine (SBM). The Director of the School of Biomedicine Yury Khotimchenko confirmed that the School is ready to admit citizens of India this coming year. FEFU's unconditional advantage, which—in his view—will be of interest for international students, is a strong fundamental training in science, powerful laboratory and clinical base, availability of the English language teachers, strong partnership ties with the leading Asian universities, and the campus, unique across Russia.

Mr. Ravi Chandran Chockalingam also visited FEFU student residential buildings, School of Biomedicine and Medical Center, where he personally familiarized with the conditions of training and accommodation for international students, and discussed on working level the forthcoming enrollment of students.

More than 2,500 international students from 48 countries are studying at Far Eastern Federal University now. Indicators on the internationalization of education were approved by the FEFU Competitiveness Enhancement Program within the framework of the 5top100 Project, according to which 7,500 international students, or 30% of the total student population, shall study at the University by 2020.
