The event named "Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart" was held in Vladivostok. More than 300 drawings and crafts went to hospitals in China in support of doctors and patients fighting with coronavirus infection. The transfer of creative work to the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Vladivostok took place at the Medical Center of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on February 21.

Yan Wenbin, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Vladivostok, noted that the Chinese side was very touched by the support of the Russian people and expressed great gratitude to everyone who sent their drawings.

The event was attended by children of FEFU medical center employees, students of Vladivostok secondary schools, young masters of the Primorsky regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, pupils of the school of gifted children, children from the Altus rehabilitation center, small patients of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1, Regional Oncology Dispensary and many others.

“The character of each person is most clearly identified in an extreme situation. Through Russian children, we convey our love and moral support to those heroes who die from a very dangerous infection in their workplaces. We want to say that the whole world appreciates and understands their hard work, their sacrifices, and their love for us. This is what our event is about”, said Oleg Pak, FEFU Vice-President for Medical Affairs.

“Children's drawings are charged with pure love and empathy, and in essence are powerful medicine. I am grateful to the FEFU Medical Center that its employees were the first to respond to the call to support Chinese doctors. They shot a video message to Chinese colleagues, which scattered across China's social networks. After that, the children of the doctors at the university clinic began to bring their drawings with the wishes to hand them over to doctors and patients in Wuhan hospitals. We talked about this in the media, and other kids joined the goodwill gesture. In just a few days, information about the action spread throughout the country and drawings began to come from all over Russia”, said Konstantin Yagodin.

The first works were transferred at the ceremony, but the action “Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart” continues. An important event will be a response photo session of Chinese doctors with received drawings from Russia. These pictures will be presented at the exhibition in Vladivostok.
