Deputy Director on Development and Professor of the FEFU School of Natural Sciences Kirill Golokhvast became a member of an international Editorial Board of the world renowned Food and Chemical Toxicology journal (FCT). This Dutch journal with an impact factor of 2.89 specializes on publication of research articles in the field of toxicology and is published by Elsevier publishing company. At an invitation of the Editor-in-Chief of FCT José Domingo (Spain) a scientist from the Far Eastern Federal University became the only representative of Russia in the journal’s editorial board.
According to Kirill Golokhvast, Food and Chemical Toxicology is a prestigious international journal, which publishes research articles and reviews on toxicology with particular emphasis on food, drugs, and chemicals. Even though FCT publishes multiple articles, getting on its pages is relatively difficult as the journal maintains the highest research standards and publishes only original materials. Editorial board carries out a serious peer review of the articles, which are sent by the authors from all parts of the world, and selects only 20% of them for publication. In 2015, an article of Kirill Golokhvast and his co-authors was approved for publication in this journal.
In the Editorial board of the Food and Chemical Toxicology Journal FEFU scientist has joined a large group of researchers from Australia, Great Britain, Greece, India, Italy, Canada, China, Republic of Korea, USA, Switzerland, Japan and other countries. Among the duties of the editors is not only a regular peer review and evaluation of the new materials, but also participation in the work on development and improvement of the journal.
It needs to be pointed out that increasing the number of publications in the high impact factor journals is one of the important tasks of the FEFU Competitiveness Enhancement Program that is being supported by the 5top100 Project.
