Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) successfully implements modern technologies in the educational process. Thanks to the development of digital solutions and online learning, the university has increased the effectiveness of training and attracted hundreds of professors to create its online courses. Every third FEFU student passes the final exams in an online format.

In 2019, Far Eastern Federal University used over 150 different online courses, 30 of which were enrolled by the university, and the rest by leading Russian universities. They were listened to by more than 12 thousand students in 67 educational modules.

“Far Eastern Center for Online Learning at FEFU adheres to the blended learning model when the online course is used together with the traditional form of training, which allows deepening the knowledge gained. Now online courses are included in almost all educational programs, and each student takes at least one of them. Somewhere online technologies are being partially implemented, and somewhere they cover the entire educational process”, said Irek Valiev, Director of the Far Eastern Online Learning Center.

7,000 FEFU students of different courses and training areas in 72 disciplines passed online exams. In the process of passing the final exams, a procedure for identifying students was organized, and independent observers from among teachers and invited experts monitor the cleanliness of the control tasks. They control the process so that the examiners independently perform tasks and do not use additional materials.

In addition, more than 1000 teachers from all over the Far East have been trained in the use of online technologies on the basis of a regional competence center. They learned not only to develop online courses but also to integrate them into the educational process.

The Far Eastern Center for Online Learning was created in FEFU in 2017 as part of the priority project “Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation”. Its implementation allows wider and more efficient use of remote technologies. When building the educational process, 297 FEFU disciplines are implemented using online courses. Students have access to lectures at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Higher School of Economics, ITMO University, Ural Federal University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and others.
