Oct 27, 2017 - FEFU News

The first 'Boiling Point–Vladivostok' in the Far East of Russia was launched at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). The collaboration space will become a platform for interaction between the leaders of the projects of the National Technological Initiative and will specialize in solving the issues of the digital economy. The agreement on the creation of the 'point' was signed by Nikita Anisimov, the FEFU Interim President, and Dmitry Peskov, the head of the Young Professionals project of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, at the Russky MeetUp IT forum on October 23.

“We thank ASI for supporting the idea of opening the 'Boiling Point' at FEFU. The university is located near the world industrial centers of the Asia-Pacific region, and this is a great challenge for the development of high-tech areas in the Russian Far East. One of the key tasks of the 'Boiling Point' is to show talented students that there are all opportunities to realize themselves in the country, and when one comes to the 'point' with any project one can always find like-minded people,” said Nikita Anisimov.

Dmitry Peskov stressed that the 'Boiling Point' is the best place to create projects that will change the world for the better. In his opinion, FEFU is able not only to train specialists, but to grow startups and new branches of the economy around itself. At the same time, the university should rely on the IT sphere, marine navigation, biomedicine, and robotics, but not be limited to them.

“Today, 'Boiling Points' brings together talents to solve the tasks facing the country. This is the place where the startuper with the boldest ideas and the statesman work according to common rules, can implement joint projects and help each other,” said Dmitry Peskov.

Vladimir Solodov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, declared about the willingness to hold meetings and foresights at the 'Boiling Point' aimed at the development of the Far East.

“I undertake to carry out activities at the 'Boiling Point' aimed at the development of the Far East at least once a month. I am sure that this space at FEFU will be the mainstay of the region's advanced development and the creation of projects oriented to the future of the country,” Vladimir Solodov emphasized.

Anyone can work and conduct activities on the 'Boiling Point'. To do this, you need to register on the leader-id.ru website. A new format for the collaboration space was developed by the ASI and has been implemented since 2014. In three years, more than 3,000 events were held at the Moscow Coworking Center, with the participation of more than 150,000 people. The 'Boiling Point' in Vladivostok is the fifth in the Russian regions: following Moscow they opened in St. Petersburg, Ivanovo, Petrozavodsk, and Novosibirsk.

The first event on the 'Boiling Point' venue at FEFU was Russky MeetUp, the global forum of the IT community, which took place from 23 to 25 October. Company executives, IT experts, federal and international experts, students, faculty and scholars discuss new projects for the development of the digital economy in the Far East and Russia as a whole, the launch of IT startups onto world markets and the role of the university in these processes.
