The free language summer online school Speaking cloud was launched by the participants of the ASAP project and the Association of Russian and International Students (ARIS) of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). For four weeks, students will learn one of the language programs through practical exercises and immersion in the language environment. Classes start on August 3. You can register using the link.

According to the organizers, the project aims to help students of different courses to speak foreign languages more confidently. This is a great way to overcome the language barrier. Useful materials will always be at hand, and you can study anywhere - at home, at work, in a cafe.

To participate, you have to pass an online test to determine your language level. Participants will be divided into groups depending on their scores.

The participants can choose one or more languages to learn: English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, French.

The students will attend interesting lectures, listen to stories about different countries, exposure of myths, and stereotypes. Classes will be held on the Zoom platform. The participants will be able to improve their communication skills in speaking clubs and use helpful resources posted on the website.

Every week, the participants will have a new topic in the target language:

• introduction - characteristics of the language, the main personalities;

• communications - general rules of behavior, relationships between people in different social groups;

• environment - the study of topical environmental issues;

• culture - literature, poetry, and visual arts.

ASAP is a service of Far Eastern Federal University for organizing student employment, which is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In the current difficult epidemiological situation, when many students lost their jobs in small and medium-sized businesses, the university itself acted as an employer.
