Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) held International Student Unity Day for the 9-th time. Delegations from 42 countries, whose representatives study at FEFU, Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES) and Maritime State University. The main event was the exhibition, where everyone could get acquainted with the customs and traditions of different nations. Students decorated the pavilions with photos of their country, elements of national clothes and lifestyle. Students offered all the visitors to try on traditional costumes, try exclusive meals and play national games.

The festival participants also organized a presentation of their national cuisines. Guests of the holiday were able to try the most unusual national dishes. The festival ended with a big gala concert.

“Attending the festival, anyone can get acquainted with different cultures, learn more about foreign countries, whose representatives study at FEFU and other universities of Vladivostok. Our students are always looking forward to this holiday, they are thoroughly preparing for it, because they want to present their nation bright and exciting. International Student Unity Day is the best opportunity to make as many foreign friends as possible.” said a FEFU student and festival organizer Polina Ryabykina.

A large-scale holiday at FEFU has been held for the 9-th year in a row. Such events allow foreign students to quickly adapt to living in Russia and contribute to the strengthening of inter-ethnic friendship among young people. Today, about 3,500 students from 74 countries study at FEFU.

In 2016, the project “FEFU International Student Unity Day” received recognition at the All-Russian level and was awarded at the finals of the National Prize Russian Event Awards. The festival also entered the short-list of the international contest Eventiada Awards, where it won a prize in the "The best event of the year" nomination.
