More than 150 young diplomats from 10 countries have adopted a declaration with proposals for the international community on the Fifth Far Eastern Model United Nations (FEMUN) at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). Participants of the BRICS Educational Internship Program joined the conference.

The delegates modeled the work of the Second and Third Committee of the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council. The main objective of the debate was to reach consensus in the discussion on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, international trade, the rights of peoples to self-determination, and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

“In connection with the unstable epidemiological situation, it was decided to hold the conference in an online format. A completely new and extremely positive experience for us. This made it possible to erase borders, attract different speakers, and also unite all the guys to discuss global issues of our time. Students from 10 countries of the world have joined the conference”, said Daria Zlydar, Secretary-General of the Conference.

Students from BRICS countries, as well as Zambia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Gambia, Afghanistan, Germany, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and Indonesia, actively participated in the discussions for three days.
