More than 3,500 international students have started the academic year at FEFU

The Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) has summed up the results of 2022/2023 International Admission Campaign. This year, more than two thousand applicants expressed their desire to study at the university, 705 of them successfully passed the entrance exams and got admitted at the university. In total, more than 3,500 thousand international students will study at FEFU this academic year.

The scope is quite wide as well: the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Latin America, Africa. The largest numbers of newly admitted students are traditionally from China and India. The leaders in enrollment rates this year are Ecuador, Uzbekistan and Colombia. Citizens of Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Cameroon, Sri Lanka, Nepal with the total number of 79 countries also showed interest in Far Eastern Federal University.

Boris Korobets, Acting FEFU President:

“FEFU managed to maintain the interest of international applicants for education in Russia. For them, we created the most convenient environment for admission: entrance examinations were held in both personal and remote formats, all documents could be submitted and signed in the electronic information system of the university. As a result, an increase in the number of FEFU students in the current academic year. In addition, the university is expanding its presence in the world. Only in China, 10 large specialized secondary schools and training centers have been opened for further admission to FEFU, we plan to increase this list next year. There is a growing demand for Russian-language education in China and Iran.”

Every year, the number of newly accepted international students is growing. In 2021, the university accepted 665 people, for 2022 this number has increased to 705 international freshmen.
