The registration for the Open Doors Competition for foreign graduate students is completed on December 18, 2019. The competition is organized by the Association of Global Universities of the Association (21 universities-participants of the 5-100 Project).
33,369 people registered for 11 different majors; it is 1.5 times more than last year. Applicants represent 190 countries (27 countries more than last year).
This is the first project in Russia to attract talented foreign graduate students to study at leading universities in Russia. The project covers almost all countries of the world and it is held for the third time in history.
The Competition is held in Russian and English languages in two stages, each of which is conducted online. It allows attracting the most trained and motivated foreign graduate students from leading countries to the leading universities of Russia. The Competition allows promoting Russian higher education in the open global market, fully competing for the best applicants.
Representatives of Asian and African countries (88%) are the most interested in studying at universities in Russia. Representatives of the CIS countries - 6%, America - 3%, Europe, Australia, and Oceania - 1% each.
The Competition is held online:
Stage 1 - filling out the portfolio through a specially designed information platform.
Stage 2 - implementation of the competition tasks in the mode of participant identification and online control of the entire process of the tasks.
Stage 1 results will be announced on December 30. The best participants will be admitted to Stage 2, which will be held in January 2020. Winners of the Competition will be announced on February 20, 2020.
Winners will be provided with free education at any of the best universities of Russia based on the Russian Federation Government education quota. Winners and prize-winners of the Competition can get additional opportunities offered by the organizing universities.
This year, more than 300 quotas have been allocated for the Competition participants in the 2019/2020 academic year.
