A festival named “The Russian Melodies in the Heart of Hanoi” was held by FEFU Representative Office in Vietnam. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Basics of Friendly Relations between Russia and Vietnam. The event was organized by FEFU and the Institute of Foreign Languages at the Hanoi State University with the support of the Russian World Foundation and the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Society.

The festival was designed to increase interest in Russian culture and the Russian language. During the event, students tried on national costumes and sang famous folk songs. The event brought together several hundred people: students and graduates of Russian and Vietnamese universities, teachers, citizens, and tourists - everyone could become a guest of a fun and colorful holiday. FEFU students who are on a language internship in Hanoi also took part in the festival and performed.

The FEFU Representative Office in Vietnam co-organized a fairly large-scale cultural event in the heart of Hanoi, opening a series of planned events within the framework of the year of Russia and Vietnam. The interest of the residents of the Vietnamese capital underlines the traditionally strong cultural ties between our nations”, said Evgeny Vlasov, FEFU Vice-President for International Relations.

FEFU Representative Office in Vietnam was opened in December 2018 on the basis of Hanoi State University. Its main tasks are the assistance in the training of specialists in the Russian language, the development of joint teaching aids and scientific articles on the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language. Moreover, it is planned to create a High-Tech Transfer Center in the FEFU Representative Office and launch a training program for innovative companies.
