The annual international summer school “Russia - Far East”, which brought together 58 foreign guests from Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Spain, China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, opened on August 6 at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The organizers prepared a rich program for them, which includes educational modules for studying the Russian language, lectures on Russian culture, politics, entrepreneurship, marketing, and innovation.

Summer School “Russia - Far East” has rightfully earned the status of a university visiting card. A pleasant effect of the increased popularity of the international intensity was the expansion of the geography of participants to the West, which emphasizes the brand recognition of the university, not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also in Europe. A young family came to us from Finland: both spouses are so keen on learning the Russian language that they planned their vacation for a summer school at FEFU”, said Anna Komogortseva, Director of the FEFU Center for International Promotion, Tourism and Protocol.

The school will last from August 6 to 23. It is noteworthy that participants can choose modules from the list presented by the organizers, thereby independently form their educational program. Each day begins with general classes in the Russian language and culture and continues with an individual module.

The school "Russia - the Far East" is being held at Far Eastern Federal University for the seventh time. According to the organizers, the most striking elements of an acquaintance of foreigners with the culture of Russia are master classes in modeling dumplings and a lesson in painting nesting dolls. Students create their own traditional Russian toy with their own hands and immerse themselves in studying the history of its appearance.

Far Eastern Federal University, being the flagship of Russian education in the Asia-Pacific region, is actively developing international cooperation and attracting more foreign applicants every year - thereby strengthening its status as an international university. To date, more than 3,500 foreign students from 74 countries study at FEFU.
