Oct 6, 2017 - International cooperation

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and Ajou University (Republic of Korea) concluded a memorandum of understanding. Victoria Panova, the FEFU Vice President for International Relations, and Byung Chun So, the Vice President for International Affairs, Ajou University, discussed the future cooperation at the meeting on September 27.

The partners decided that Biomedicine and Engineering would be a starting point of their collaboration. FEFU and Ajou University plan to exchange students, young researchers and academics, to conduct joint scientific research—primarily in the field of IT, the development of new medical technologies, and their implementation in practice. Dr. Byung Chun So noted that Ajou University, like FEFU, is actively developing biomedical sciences and has its own hospital, which is recognized as one of the best in the country.

“Thank you for your interest in Far Eastern Federal University. We are confident that starting from these areas, we will be able to bring our cooperation to a high level, regularly make academic exchanges, conduct research, launch new academic, cultural and scientific projects that will strengthen the Russian-Korean relations,” said Victoria Panova.

The Vice President also invited students from Ajou University to the FEFU international summer schools: they are very popular with international students from all over the world, help them get to know the university and Russia, its language, culture and traditions.

Far Eastern Federal University has almost four dozen Korean partners to date. Joint research projects, academic exchange programs, grant and scholarship support for talented students and researchers are implemented with the largest universities, research centers and companies of the Republic of Korea.
