Jun 21, 2017 - International cooperation

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) concluded memorandums of understanding with the University of Seoul (Republic of Korea) and the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (Japan). The signing ceremony took place on the margins of the NAFSA world's largest forum on global education in the US, where the FEFU delegation was headed by Victoria Panova, Vice President for International Relations.

“The development of a network of partnerships with leading international universities is one of the FEFU priorities. Given the rapid development of Asian universities, intergovernmental cooperation and logistical accessibility for the implementation of joint academic and research projects, Asia Pacific Region universities are of special interest for FEFU,” said Victoria Panova. “In addition, research and academic ties promote comprehensive integration into the international educational space and enhance the authority of Russian education.”

The cooperation of FEFU with the University of Seoul and Kyoto University of Foreign Studies will be implemented in several areas. Among the key ones are regular exchange of students, faculty, researchers, educational and scientific materials, joint research, conferences, youth and cultural projects.

Simultaneously with the framework memorandum, FEFU Vice President for International Relations Victoria Panova and Vice President for International Affairs of the Seoul University Se Hyun Ahn signed an agreement on the exchange of students for a period of five years. Each year, the universities will send to each other four students for internship lasting up to six months.

Today FEFU is developing cooperation with 37 universities and research centers in Japan and 38 ones in the Republic of Korea. Mutual interest is reflected in collaborative research, student exchanges, organization of partnership conferences, forums and youth summer schools.
