Mar 22, 2017 - International cooperation

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Interim President Nikita Anisimov met with Teo Chin Leong, Director for Development and Market Analysis of Singapore Changi Airport International, the owner of Vladivostok International Airport JSC. The main theme of the negotiations was the cooperation of the University and the airport, which would ensure the ever-increasing mobility of students, FEFU faculty and staff.

“FEFU students and employees very often travel around Russia and the world to participate in exchange programs, internships, and conferences. Also, the Federal University has become increasingly popular with foreign students, who come to Vladivostok from all over the world,” said Teo Chin Leong. “We see great potential in this, and we are ready to cooperate with FEFU in its international activities and to launch new flights that will be demanded by applicants, students, and staff.”

Nikita Anisimov thanked the representative of Changi Airport International for support and pointed out that annually FEFU hosts over 200 conferences and forums at its venue, which also increases the flow of passengers.

With regard to the prospects for the development of the airport, Teo Chin Leong described the plans of attracting more airlines to make Vladivostok an important transport hub in the region. A number of new direct flights from different cities in the PRC are scheduled to be launched in the near future. The Director for Development is confident that this will help to increase the number of Chinese students in FEFU.

Changi Airport International is one of the world's largest airport operators. Apart from the Singapore's airport, the company owns and manages five airports in Russia (Vladivostok, Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Anapa), as well as airports in Brazil, India, and Myanmar.
