A high-ranked delegation of the Russian Federation attended the deliberative forum: Russia - Vietnam: prospects for educational cooperation at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi- Vietnam on the 28th of October, 2019.

The meeting brought together the government representatives and academic experts to discuss the rapidly developing globalization and its influence on the internationalization of education in both countries.

The First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation P.S. Zenkovich took part in the opening ceremony. During his speech, P.S. Zenkovich emphasized the impact of the agreement, which was signed in 2014 between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to foster the strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam in the field of education, science, and technology. Moreover, P.S. Zenkovich outlined the promising areas for science and educational cooperation, in particular in the field of language learning and secondary vocational education.

“By 2020, the implementation of the Russian-Vietnamese project will begin by sending 5 Russian tutors to teach the Russian language at the Vietnamese schools. The interest of our teachers in working with the Vietnamese children in Vietnam is very high that more than 40 applications have already been submitted for these five places,” P.S. Zenkovich.

In regards to the internationalization of higher education, the plenary speakers remarked the outstanding results of the cooperation between Far Eastern Federal University-Russia and Vietnam National University (VNU). Luu Thi Nam Ha, Director of FEFU Representative Office in Hanoi - Vietnam, took this opportunity to share the upcoming joint projects between the universities, which cover a wide range of areas, including education and broader socio-cultural engagement.

The Russian delegation introduced their areas of interest for international cooperation among these offers where projects presented by the Moscow Region College of Energy, the Fund for New Forms of Education Development specializing in the creation of children's technology parks and centers for gifted children, the Center for Continuing Education for Children and Adults, the Enlightenment Academy, All-Russian Children's Centers “Ocean” and “Eaglet”, Union “Worldskills Russia” Agency for the Development of Professional Communities and Workers, the Far Eastern Federal University.

Within the framework of "Russia - Vietnam: prospects for educational cooperation", a series of open lessons and seminars for students of the Russian language held in the Vietnamese educational organizations, as part of Mathematical Week in Vietnam supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
