Far Eastern Media Summit 2016

The Third Far East Media Summit was held in FEFU. The main media forum of the region brought together about two thousand representatives of the media, universities, press services, experts from Russia and foreign countries on Russky Island campus.

The plenary session of the forum was attended by the Primorsky Krai Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky, Primorsky Krai Legislative Assembly Speaker Viktor Gorchakov, and FEFU President Sergey Ivanets.

The forum continued with break-out sessions. Over 50 meetings were held on the sidelines of the Summit during two days. The participants discussed the work of journalists in modern economic conditions, cooperation with international media, youth, sport and glossy journalism, regional TV and radio, press service activities, opportunities for bloggers, anti-crisis PR, copyright, ethics and other professional topics.

A separate section was devoted to the 55th Anniversary of the Journalism Education in the Far East. The FEFU academics, active media professionals, experts, veterans, founders and outstanding graduates of Far Eastern University talked about the prospects of the media education development in modern conditions.

The Media Summit 2016 was organized by the Administration of Primorsky Krai, Regional Office of the Russian Union of Journalists and Far Eastern Federal University.
