During the “Week of ecological education” ecologists from the USA visited the FEFU School of Pedagogies. The organizers of the event were Botanic Garden of Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Science and its foreign partners - University of Washington Botanic Garden and Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust.

American guests were hosted by the Director of The School of Pedagogies Sergey Pishun.  During the meeting participants reached a view that the role of ecological education grows and this tendency will continue. Also both parties expressed their willingness to collaborate in future.

Afterwards the guests from the USA met with the students — future teachers of Geography and ecologists. University of Washington Botanic Garden employee Patrick Mulligan who delivered a lecture on ecological education in the USA, liked the heterogeneity of the audience:

— I used to be a student — geographer and a graduate student — ecologist, so I am also a “hybrid”, like you are.

Sally Kentch told about her 20 years of work experience in Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, and another employee of this fund Tony Allison acted as an interpreter.

During the “Week of Ecological Education” Russian and American ecologists will deliver lectures to students in several cities of Primorskiy Region.
