The 5th annual summer school of Korean studies in Seoul is over.
The courses of the 5th annual summer school of Korean studies in Seoul National University have been finished. This year the representative from FEFU Vadim Akulenko participated in this summer school.
During two weeks — July, 4 — July, 15 — twenty young scientists from Russia, the USA, India and South Korea attended lectures devoted to actual problems of modern Korean studies. Lectures in Korean were given by the leading specialists of Seoul National University.
Apart from everyday lectures the summer school participants had an opportunity to visit the library “Kyuchzhangak”: there are thousands of historically and culturally valuable books. As the librarians say, many books presented here exist only in a single copy.
Vadim Akulenko appreciated the opportunity to meet professors who conduct researches in the spheres interesting for FEFU. Tutorials and search of the literature necessary for his research works in the library of Seoul National University essentially extended the volume of received information.
After the course of lectures all the participants of the summer school had a chance to make a report on their work, to share their experience and to discuss disputable issues with colleagues and professors of Seoul National University. As Vadim Akulenko says, such sharing of opinions allowed young scientists to take a new view of the issues that were considered in the research works, to get interesting remarks and alternative solutions from experienced scientists.
As the result of the summer school, those who attended 60% of lectures were given certificates and those who attended all the lectures got special diplomas and memorable prizes.
