On August 25 the sailing-ship “Nadezhda” will travel to the Pacific campaign, timed to the meeting of the Heads of the APEC forum in Vladivostok in 2012. The purpose of this campaign is promoting the state policy of the development of comprehensive relations between Russia and APR (Asian and Pacific Rim) countries. “During the campaign our sailing-ship will visit 18 ports of the APEC countries in South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Philippines, China and Japan” — the press secretary of the Federal State Institution “Far Eastern Directorate Ministry of Regional Development of Russian Federation” Alexander Ognevsky informed.

The special photo exhibition will be organized for the foreign visitors of our “Nadezhda”. There will be photographs of construction of the APEC summit in Vladivostok. Significant place in the exhibition will take picture stories from the construction site of the FEFU campus in the Russky Island. In the pictures you will see the construction process from the first day until now: preparation for building of the Ajax village, foundation work, formation of steel structures of buildings, filling walls and glazing of the new buildings, landscaping of the territory. Many of the photos to be included in the exhibition were made just for official purposes and not for the wide audience.

The campaign is expected to be finished in Vladivostok in early September 2012, in time events of the APEC summit. The plans include: the roundtable discussion with transport problems involving the Transport Ministers of the APEC countries on broadside of the “Nadezhda”; the boat tour to senior officials of APEC economies; reception spouses of Heads of States and Governments of the APEC countries. And in the end the presentation of the movie “‘Nadezhda’ — the course to the APEC summit in Vladivostok.”
