Beginning from the next academic year a new Master’s program on Politology in English will be taught at FEFU.

The program is named “Russian Far East in Asia-Pacific Rim”. Its Russian analogue “Political Systems and Processes of APR in the Context of World Politics” is already working — first candidates for a Master's degree have already started studying.

The head of a current Master’s program and future program in English is Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of FEFU School of Regional and International Studies Dr. Anatoliy Kuznetsov informs:

— For preparing the new master’s program we engage not only leading Russian specialists, but also foreign political scientists. For example, Professor Jeff Linstrom of the University of California who has recently defended his doctoral thesis will be the first foreign teacher of this program. During this year he will consult FEFU teachers how to give lectures in English.

Professor Jeff Linstrom suggests enriching the program with an interesting course “Democratization in APR”. Apart from him, several professors from Moscow and Berkeley agreed to teach at FEFU. And of course, FEFU professors will also give lectures in English.

Becoming a student of the unique international program and to get a Master’s degree in Politology will be possible not only for Russian specialists with Bachelor’s degree, but also for foreigners.

— The first enrolment for this program will be mixed —  we’ll invite Russian specialists and specialists from all the countries of Asia-Pacific Rim, — added Prof. Kuznetsov.

Currently, a new unique Master’r program is being elaborated. It will include general issues of politology and specific problems of multiculturalism and their role in the relations between countries of APR. The theoretical part of the program will also include systematic analysis of regional political problems.
