Scientists of the Far Eastern Federal University create new innovative dome homes without using a single nail. They are unique because of the application of a new design of the interlocks between separate parts of the wooden spheric frames, which compare favorably with foreign-produced frames due to their simplicity, functionality and lack of metallic fixtures.

Over the few recent years scientists have received more then 30 patents for the designed architectural and construction systems, joints, binding joists, and wall panels for construction of the wooden houses.

Creation of a dome space requires 40% less construction materials as compared to the construction of a traditional rectangular-shape house. At the same time the dome design construction has a higher energy efficiency, which can help cut the heating costs by 40%.
