Scientists of the Far Eastern Federal University are working on the development of a device that would scare off sharks with the sound waves. Hydroacoustic device designed by the FEFU scientists would allow making the beaches of Primorsky krai safer against the sharks.

The principle of functioning of these devices is based on periodic emission of sound waves. The sharks cannot stand these sounds and rush far away from the source of their emission. While working in automatic mode the device remains absolutely environmentally friendly.
