Researchers at the FEFU Laboratory of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology under the leadership of Professor Nina Sanina and Professor Eduard Kostetsky study transitive and reversible lipid-protein interactions in the new environments using state-of-the-art methods of molecular biology, biochemistry and biochemistry.

The study findings would be used for selection of the treatment methods that can boost sensibility of bacterias to the antibiotics and improve efficiency of split product vaccines based on lipid-carriers of antigen.

Besides, researchers of the lab study immunomodulating and chaperoning properties of glycolipids and saponins of marine organisms for the development of a new generation of vaccines that would utilize these organisms for production. Conducted research aims develop a fundamentally new highly adjuvant nano-carriers of the isolated antigens, which can give significant economic effect in mass vaccinations.
