Agri-food biotechnology

The educational program Agri-food biotechnology

Master's program (2 years)

Institute of Life Sciences and Biomedicine (School)

Far Eastern Federal University

Entry Requirements: Portfolio Contest

Agri-food biotechnology is a global trend, an important part of the green economy. Biotechnologists, graduates of this direction, are scientists and engineers who are able to put into practice modern methods of bioengineering and biotransformation, modern technologies for obtaining target products, as well as modeling biotechnological processes and designing production organizations.

Biotechnologist is a profession of the 21st century. Today, hunger, ecology and traditional technologies in the field of food industry are important for the whole world, agriculture is not able to cope with the need to expand food production along with maintaining ecological balance. To achieve this, fundamentally new approaches and methods are needed, which are provided by modern agri-food biotechnology. In combination with innovative biotechnological methods, including microbiological synthesis, enzymatic catalysis is a tool for the rapid design and creation of new types of agrobiotechnological products for the food industry.

In the conditions of the modern labor market, the profession of a biotechnologist with a specialization in the field of agri-food biotechnology is in high demand in organizations of various forms of ownership: in state research and production associations, in small and medium-sized businesses, including foreign ones.
