The construction of the reciprocating mechanism for fish head cutting machine when processing fish

The existing design fish head cutting machines employ mainly the scheme when the knife moves in guides. Various drives and schemes generating translational movement have certain drawbacks to the force and speed of the movement of the working tool. The article is concerned with the operating principles of a little known mechanism which converts rotational motion to reciprocating one and with the comparison between various variants of such a mechanism. Besides, it substantiates the most appropriate scheme for the process, which the authors themselves used as a basis when they employed the mechanism in fish processing equip-ment for the first time.

Key words: rotational motion, reciprocating motion, conversion of motion, diagram of gears, design varia-tions, machine reliability.
