Boris Korobets has been appointed President of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The corresponding order was signed on December 26 by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

Boris Korobets assumed the position of Acting FEFU President on November 16, 2021. During this year under his leadership, a 2030 university development program was prepared and approved, the design of integrated infrastructure of the Innovative Science and Technology Center "Russky" has begun on Russky Island, and five strategic research projects of the university has started within the framework of the state program "Priority 2030".

In addition, FEFU won the competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and created an Advanced School of Engineering, on the basis of which business and academic representatives will be able to develop novel biotechnologies. The Russky Engineering Center was opened to solve the tasks of import substitution, and it will become a single window solution for the engineering tasks of Russia and friendly countries in the sphere of the technological development of the real sector of the economy. The university also received a federal grant, ensuring a new start-up studio launch on the basis of FEFU.

Prior to joining the Far Eastern Federal University, Boris Korobets served as First Vice President - Vice President for Research and Strategic Development of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, which he graduated from in 2004 with honors, majoring in Jurisprudence. After graduation, Boris Korobets stayed to work there as a professor. In 2007, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Juridical Sciences. In 2011, he graduated from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in Public and Administration (diploma with honors) and in 2016, from Bauman Moscow State Technical University in the direction of training "Organization and Management of Science-Intensive Industries" (diploma with honors). In 2017 he defended his doctoral dissertation on mathematical modeling of the effective formation of scientific and technical programs.

Boris Korobets is a member of the Bureau of the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Presidential Council of Russia on Science and Education, a member of the Council on Intellectual Property under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a member of the Expert Council under the Committee of the Federation Council on Science, Education and Culture and a number of other expert bodies.

Participated in the development of a strategy for the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, was a member of the organizing committee of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students program (2017, Russia), is a member of the initiative group for the creation of the track "Science" of the all-Russian managers competition  "Leaders of Russia".
