The delegation of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), headed by the President Nikita Anisimov took part in the largest exhibition and conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education APAIE-2019, which is held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). FEFU presents new Master's Degree programs to potential partners, as well as opportunities to develop academic mobility. 

Vice President for International Relations Victoria Panova moderated the session named as “Which universities will lead in the Asia-Pacific in 2030?”, organized jointly by FEFU and the 5-100 Project Office, identifying a number of the most significant trends in education, as well as the challenges facing the modern university. Victoria Panova stressed that education, which is the main source of new knowledge and human resource development, has become a complex, multi-faceted mechanism, which is becoming increasingly important for solving new global development challenges. As the main driving forces of innovation growth, higher education institutions are required to effectively adapt to a number of primary system-level trends in order to claim leadership status.  

Being a key speaker of the APRU panel discussion, Victoria Panova shared her foreign colleagues the best practices of FEFU internationalization, which contributed to the growth of the international status of the university, as well as specific cases on the expansion of the innovation ecosystem for the development of the region and responding to the challenges of the new time.

FEFU is the only Russian university that is a member of the prestigious Association of Asian-Pacific Universities (APRU). “The current situation is rather complicated and requires that institutions of higher education adapt quickly to the changes taking place and promptly find solutions to the problems they face. It is more reasonable to solve such problems not alone, but together. The consolidated approach on a regional scale should become dominant in order to overcome development discrepancies caused by the Scientific and Technical Revolution and progress”, said Victoria Panova.

During the three days of the APAIE international exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Far Eastern Federal University signed student exchange agreements with Akita University (Japan), Kookmin University (Republic of Korea), and the University of Indonesia. Such activity on the part of partners emphasizes the demand for foreign students in education in Russia and the competitiveness of FEFU’s educational programs on the international market.
