Scientists of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) won the Megascience-NICA competition of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) to support research on hadron and quark-gluon substances. Using supercomputer calculations and machine learning methods, it is planned to study the states of dense quark-gluon plasma. The results will be included in the research program at the NICA collider under construction in Dubna. A unique project in the field of theoretical physics was headed by Alexander Molochkov, the head of the Center for Chiral Biophotonics of the FEFU School of Biomedicine.

“The study of the phase diagram of quark-gluon matter is a topical issue of modern science. Currently, it is engaged in scientific groups in almost all countries of the world where fundamental research in the field of physics is conducted. Despite the high scientific competition, now there is a good chance that the first results of the study of cold quark matter in the world will be obtained at the Russian collider in Dubna with our participation”, said Alexander Molochkov.

The project “Studying the phase diagram of dense quark-gluon plasma from the first principles of the theory, enhanced by machine learning methods” won the NICA-RFBR competition to support research on the topic “Fundamental properties and phase transformations of hadron and quark-gluon matter: installation of megasiens class“ NICA complex ". Financing of the project for three years will amount to 14 million rubles.
