Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) strengthened its position in the QS "Emerging Europe & Central Asia" 2018/2019. Over the past year, FEFU advanced two points and ranked 87th. In total, the British agency Quacquarelli Symonds ranked 305 universities, including 27 new ones.

“Active research and development of international relations provide the university with not just the dynamics in the ratings, but also a qualitative effect - international recognition and reputation,” said FEFU President Nikita Anisimov. – “The priority is always the education quality, which was improved with the new modular training system. It synchronized the educational process with the leading Russian and foreign universities, opened broad opportunities for academic mobility for students and professors. It is important to maintain the steady development and continue to move forward, because the pace of universities development and competition in the educational environment is very fast.”

According to the Office of FEFU Vice-President for Development, over the past year, the university has noticeably advanced in criteria that characterize reputation in the academic environment, educational activities, publication activity of scientists and the university popularity among the foreign students. Also, one more ranking criterion was introduced in 2018. This criterion is named “International Research Networks” and directed to evaluate the international research partnerships. It helped FEFU to immediately enter the QS TOP 100 best universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia.

Far Eastern Federal University is consistently strengthening its position in the international scientific and educational space. In the world QS World University Rankings 2018, the university rose by 110 points and ranked among leading universities from 541 to 550 positions for the first time in history. FEFU is also in the top 100 QS BRICS countries and ranks 301-350 in Times Higher Education among the emerging economies countries. FEFU is promoted in many ways by 5-100 Project, which the university has been participating and successfully implementing a comprehensive plan to improve international competitiveness since 2014.
