The program for remote monitoring of patients who come from abroad and are in quarantine was developed by Ivan Kobets, a 10-th grade student at Humanitarian and Economic College of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). Doctors now have the opportunity to receive the necessary information online, without wasting valuable time on telephone calls. The program is already used by 170 patients of Clinic No. 9 in the city of Vladivostok.

“My mother works in the clinic, and somehow I heard that they have a lot of people from abroad who need to be monitored on the phone every day. He offered her the idea of a program that simplifies this task. The idea was accepted, and I developed it over the weekend”, said Ivan Kobets.

In Primorsky Region, to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, all citizens arriving from abroad must undergo two-week quarantine. Doctors have to call each patient daily and ask two template questions: what is their temperature and are there any symptoms of the disease.

With the help of the program, everyone who is in quarantine can go to a special website and independently answer questions. To date, 170 people assigned to the Clinic No. 9 are served through the program.

“In the current difficult situation, patients work together with doctors. And thanks to this program, they themselves can mark their condition so as not to distract the doctors. Thus, everything is under control”, said Natalya Kobets, Deputy Chief Physician in the Medical Department of the Clinic No. 9.

How does the program work? The patient visits the site through a personal ID that he received from the clinic and enters his last name. When confirming the information, the user is given access to fill out the form. He enters his temperature, notes whether he has symptoms of the disease or not. Information is added to the database for doctors. If the patient made a mistake in filling, he can resend the correct data.

Ivan himself administers the site, fixes all the bugs. The program was written in accelerated mode, and there was practically no time to check. Therefore, the young developer improves the program every day.

Humanitarian and Economic College of Far Eastern Federal University is a part of the Department of Pre-University Education of FEFU, it is the first general educational organization at a university in the Far East.
