The award ceremony for holders of nominal scholarships for the academic year 2018–2019 was held at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The winners were awarded higher state academic scholarships and scholarships of the Oxford Russian Foundation, scholarships named after M.I. Yankovsky, BP Company and Gazprombank.

This year we decided to diversify the traditions of honoring the best students and hold the final award ceremony. In our university, there is simply a huge number of incentive programs - more than 30, within which there is quite serious support for students, which allows you to make a good start both in your career and in life. Congratulations to the scholars with well-deserved victories and I wish you to multiply your success”, said Andrei Shushin, FEFU Vice President for Academic and Educational Affairs.

“Each semester, more than 700 of our students are holders of higher state academic scholarships. Scholarships are awarded for achievements in educational, scientific, social, sports and creative activities. In the 2018–2019 academic year, in general, about a thousand students receive personalized and increased scholarships from domestic and foreign partners”, said Natalia Spichenkova, Director of FEFU Department of Scholarships and Grant Programs.

The largest category of recipients is 120 scholars of the Oxford Russian Foundation. Payments are received by bachelors, undergraduates and master students who have shown high achievements in academic, scientific and social activities. Since 2006, about 2,000 university students have won this award.

Scholarships named after Mikhail Ivanovich Yankovsky for students interested in the development of Primorsky Region and awards from Gazprombank were also presented at the ceremony. 14 young scientists are awarded with diplomas from BP, among them those who have already managed to prove themselves in the scientific field: graduate student Eduard Tokar, undergraduates Pavel Osmolovsky, Vladislav Baryshev, Alexey Balabukha.

“It is very nice to receive a scholarship from BP because this recognition is from professionals. I have previously received various similar awards, for example, a grant from the Environmental Fund named after Vernadsky, and I want to say that this is great moral support for beginning scientists”, noted FEFU graduate student Edward Tokar.

Far Eastern Federal University students can obtain about 30 different scholarships. These are government awards for an excellent study, scholarships of the Governor of Primorye, the President and the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as a number of scholarships from leading Russian and international companies.
