FEFU - Hebei International Student Winter School has completed at the FEFU campus on Russky Island. Over the one week program, 23 students from Hebei Engineering University got acquainted with Russian culture, language and the possibilities of continuing studies at the leading university in the Far East.

According to the FEFU Center for International Promotion, Tourism, and Protocol, the international school was held with the aim of developing intercultural communication and youth cooperation, scientific exchange, and increasing the interest of foreign participants in FEFU and Russian education in general. The curriculum included classes in engineering disciplines in the format of lectures and seminars from the point of view of the Russian approach, consideration of cases of real engineering projects implemented in Russia and at FEFU. Foreign students enjoyed a round table with Russian youth, excursions to the museums of Vladivostok, acquaintance with Russian culture through folk games, songs and dances, master classes.

“FEFU is successfully developing engineering cooperation with technical educational institutions in China. In addition to specialized engineering classes, winter school participants got acquainted with the culture of Russia, attended classes in the Russian language, which positively affects the international promotion of Russian education, language and contributes to the formation of a community of young people in countries of the Asia-Pacific region loyal to Russia", said Anna Komogortseva, Director of the FEFU Center for International Promotion, Tourism, and Protocol.

Guests from Hebei University noted that such trips help to immerse themselves in the culture of the country and get acquainted with Russians. Informal meetings with peer students made it possible to take a different look at university life and dispel stereotypes. Some students from Hebei thought about continuing their studies and their scientific activities at FEFU.

Far Eastern Federal University is actively working towards internationalization and the expansion of international cooperation. Conducting summer and winter schools together with foreign partners is an integral part of the integration of FEFU into the global education agenda and is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the university in the framework of the 5-100 Project.
