The 22nd Annual Model United Nations Conference in the Far East (MUNFE) will be held at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) from December 1 to 5, 2023. Over 100 delegates will simulate the work of the largest international organization on behalf of representatives of its countries. The event includes official stages, working meetings, trainings and an open forum. The UN Model at FEFU operates in accordance with the Concept of Humanitarian Policy of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the President of Russia of September 5, 2022.

As part of five committees: the UN Security Council, the UN Environment Assembly, the UN Commission on Population and Development, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the World Bank, delegates will discuss a number of global issues, including: threats to international peace and security, obstacles to achieving sustainable development goals related to population and food, the role of innovation in building the future, combating climate change in the Asia-Pacific region, assessing and approving development projects and many others. Committee work is conducted in accordance with the procedures and traditions of the United Nations.

Participants will listen to briefings from federal and international experts and take part in debates to develop new solutions to the agendas under consideration. Such experience allows to develop leadership skills, learn the art of negotiations and public speaking, diplomatic etiquette, as well as intercultural communication through language practice.

The annual conference of MUNFE is the only Model UN in the country at which the work of one of the committees is carried out - the World Bank, the unique procedure of which was developed jointly with the World Bank office in Russia.

The winners of the conference will be invited to join the MUNFE Leadership Program, which includes preparation and travel to the international Model UN in 2024, as well as visits to various diplomatic and educational institutions in Russia and abroad.

Let us remind you that the UN Model in the Far East has been held on the basis of FEFU for 20 years. It helps develop participants' leadership skills and diplomatic competencies.
