The President of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Nikita Anisimov met with a delegation of deputies of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The main topic of discussion was the development of cooperation with the North Korea's leading university in engineering and technology: Kim Chaek University of Technology.
The President of the Korean university Hong Seo Heon, who is also the Chairman of the DPRK–RF Interparliamentary Friendship Association, noted that the country's leadership pays great attention to the development of academic and scientific cooperation with Russia. Hong Seo Heon invited FEFU leading researchers to participate in international scientific conference to be held in Pyongyang in Fall 2018.
In turn, the FEFU President Nikita Anisimov invited the representatives of the North Korean university to celebrate the 100–year anniversary of the engineering education in the Far East of Russia. The main celebration will be held in October–November 2018. By this time, the parties also plan to finalize the framework cooperation agreement between FEFU and Kim Chaek University of Technology.
