Aug 9, 2018 - International cooperation

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and Pusan National University Hospital, PNUH (Republic of Korea) have signed a cooperation agreement. The partners plan to jointly develop telemedicine in Primorye: medical services with the use of computer and telecommunication technologies.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Yuri Khotimchenko, Vice President for Medical Affairs, FEFU Director of the School of Biomedicine, and Lee Ho Suk, Professor at the Pusan National University School of Medicine, head of the PNUH research laboratory.

“We expect to organize a joint medical seminar at the end of 2018. We could jointly conduct a surgery by means of telemedicine already in 2019, not only between Busan and Vladivostok, but also between Vladivostok and some remote area in Primorsky Krai. I see a lot of common ground in our work, and look forward to an active and fruitful cooperation,” said Lee Ho Suk.

“Korea has a very developed medical service, and we have much to learn from the colleagues. It is also interesting to implement joint academic programs and research. Cooperation in the field of genomics research and search for anticancer bioactive compounds from marine organisms can also be promising,” said Yuri Khotimchenko.

According to Oleg Pak, FEFU Medical Center Director, Vladivostok is a promising venue for the introduction of Korean medicine technologies.
