Far Federal University (FEFU) has created a subsection of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the authoritative global organization of engineers. It brought together leading researchers/engineers of the Far East HE institutions, opening for them wide opportunities of international cooperation and access to the newest scientific information. FEFU is the third point of the IEEE presence in Russia along with St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

“The partnership with the world's largest association of engineers provides great opportunities. FEFU scientists can promote their research at the international level, become reviewers in authoritative editions and participate in grant programs. This is a particularly significant event for FEFU in the year of the 100th anniversary of engineering education in the Far East. Such partnership strengthens international authority of the School of Engineering and the university as a whole,” emphasized Kirill Golokhvast, FEFU Vice President for Research.

The Far East Subsection of the IEEE in FEFU plans to hold annual conferences, training webinars and seminars, and to establish new scientific journals. The first major event will be Far East Con, the international scientific conference, which will take place on 2-4 October 2018. Scientists and students, leading research in the field of automation and energy, materials science, construction, earth sciences, economics, and production are invited to participate.
