Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) announces a public grants competition for “Conducting fundamental and applied scientific research by research groups together with research teams from Asia-Pacific region FEFU partner universities in 2022-2024”. The competition is supported by the FEFU Fund in partnership with VTB Bank. Submission deadline is July 15, 2022. The results of the competition will be announced no later than October, 15 2022.

The funding is intended for scientific, S&T programs and projects, conducting basic and exploratory research. The implementation of the project should promote the development of international collaboration with scientific organizations and universities of the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening young scientists’ positions in the scientific and educational fields, scientific mobility.

The scientific research or project should address specific tasks within one or more FEFU strategic directions, which will lead to new results: scientific and S&T achievements, scientific and S&T problems solving methods, possible areas of knowledge application, including ones protected as intellectual property.

- Ocean sciences;

 - Life sciences;

 - Physics and materials science;

 - Engineering sciences;

 - Digital sciences;

- "Eastern vector" –Eastern culture, education, society, business and industry studies.

Research team leader requirements: a scientist under 50 y.o. (incl) at the time of the application submission deadline expiry; scientific degree of Candidate of Science or Doctor of Science; position of the category "professional staff" or "scientific worker"; FEFU is the primary employment.

Maximum funding per application per year - up to 2,500,000 rubles for the natural and technical sciences and up to 1,500,000 rubles for the humanities and social sciences.

If the first stage of the project is successful, based on the results of the examination report, an extension for one more year is possible. The total amount of funding planned by the FEFU Fund for projects in 2022-2023 is 18,000,000 rubles. All applications will be subject to external examination by specialized experts.

The amount of the foreign partner(s) expenditures in the project should be not less than 100% of the requested grant amount for each year of the project implementation. The project works performed by the foreign partner(s) are covered by foreign partner(s) and must be shown in rubles at the Central Bank of the Russian Federation official exchange rate on the application submission day.

The foreign partner(s) must provide an official letter of intent with the same project title and the financial obligations.

Applications are to be submitted by project leaders in hard and soft copies. Soft copy is to be submitted no later than 18:00 (Vladivostok time) on July 15, 2022. to the e-mail konkurs.ef@dvfu.ru

One hard copy must be submitted to the Office of Vice-president for Research no later than 18:00 (Vladivostok time) on July 15, 2022. Address: Office A1118, FEFU Campus, 10 Ajax Bay, Russky Island, Vladivostok.

It should be noted that this is the third grant
competition with the support of the FEFU Fund. The first one was held in 2017.
