Sergey Vasiltsov, a graduate student of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), suggested using neurobiological feedback technology (NeuroBOS) to reduce the level of stress. A person learns to consciously control his emotions after a series of special trainings with the use of a neurointerface.

According to Sergey Vasiltsov, a student of the FEFU School of Engineering, the training sessions start with five minutes and gradually reach an hour. Special sensor—encephalograph—takes readings of the prefrontal cortex of the brain, which is responsible for the concentration of attention, self-control, and the ability to draw conclusions. In the meantime, the sound of rain is heard in the headphones. All experiences, thoughts flow, and stress are displayed by means of an increase of the sound volume.

The person's task is to overcome emotions, calm down and reduce the volume in the headphones. Such regular exercises will train the brain to cope with emotions independently. One can achieve a sustainable result for 15 days of daily training.

“By using this technology, one can learn to control her/his consciousness,” said Sergei Vasiltsov. “Depending on the type of activity, our brain causes electrical vibrations at different frequencies. Waves of brain activity are read by a neural interface and transmit an audio signal (volume level). Thus, a person learns to deal with stress, can enter the state of conscious self-control at any time without the neuro-headset and calmly respond to negativity. We plan to add visual and use VR glasses for training sessions in the future.”

According to the developer, the first tests in the focus group were successful. According to the results of Beck's test, before and after all participants of the experiment improved their state of health, the general level of their stress decreased. Graduate students of the FEFU School of Engineering Ksenia Kuznetsova, Igor Ivanov, Ayagma Norzhimova, and Alina Debus work on the project together with Sergey Vasiltsov.
