Students of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) represented Russia at the international emergency response and relief simulation exercises. The forum of the Asia-Pacific Disaster Relief Association was held in China (Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province). Rescue teams from Russia, China, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States worked out a scheme of joint work in a disaster zone.

Young rescuers practiced emergency response and relief actions, communications build-up, command center activities in the disaster zone, the interaction between medical staff, rescuers, volunteers, and life-support services.

Together with rescuers from Taiwan, the FEFU team held a large-scale rescue works in a 4-storey building, which leaned at about 40 degrees due to the earthquake. The team also worked out actions to be taken after a road traffic accident. Another simulation exercise was the sewage manhole, where people were stuck after cave-in. The participants coped with all possible consequences of an emergency within 30 hours.
